If you’re not all completely sated with music after Record Store Day, how about coming along to our gig today (Sunday 21st April)? We’re playing from 3-5pm this afternoon at the Con Club in Lewes. It’s free to get in, and the long set means we’ll be playing everything we know – and probably some we don’t.
Recorded at Union Music Store, 9 March 2013
We’re having a quick breather before the next couple of gigs in March. The first (Sat 9th) is an in-store set at Lewes’ legendary Union Music Store, and the second (Tue 12th) an evening at Bom-Bane’s restaurant in Kemptown, supported by Lovely Guy Hayes™.
Both are free acoustic gigs where I won’t have room to swing a drum stick, so I’ll probably be revealing my inadequacy on the cajon. We may also have to ration Charlie to just, say, 10 of his favourite instruments, and Matthew to 90 of his favourite decibels.
It’s less than a week until our Christmas gig at Lewes’ lovely Buttercup Cafe, and we’re thrilled to announce that Chris T-T will be our special guest. Although he’s lived in the area for a decade, this will be Chris’ first ever Lewes performance. It should be a special evening.
For those who don’t know the Buttercup – host to our August launch for Eucatastrophe – it’s an intimate, friendly venue with lovely acoustics and great food. Claire will be serving her delicious mezze plates ‘with a Christmas twist’, so make sure you turn up hungry!
There are limited tickets; they cost £5.50 and are available online or in person at the Union Music Store. Soft drinks are available, but if you want alcohol please bring it with you.
Incidentally, if you’re looking for other gigs in the run-up to Christmas, head along to what might be Chris T-T’s last performance of Disobedience. It’s an all-ages show in which Chris sets the words of A.A. Milne to his own music. It’s the afternoon of the following Saturday (22nd) in Brighton, and it’ll be quite, quite lovely.
Sorry but this is now sold out. Numbers are strictly limited and there are no tickets on the door, so please don’t turn up without one. Our next gig is at Brighton Folk on January 13th – see the listings over to the right ->
We’re delighted to announce our return to the beautiful Buttercup Cafe in Lewes for a Christmas gig on Saturday 15 December.
We’ll be playing two acoustic sets featuring tracks from Eucatastrophe, some new songs and one or two surprises. Full details and tickets are available now from the event website, www.smallshipwrecks.co.uk/xmas.
If you can’t make it, don’t forget we’re also playing with Guy Hayes at the Coach House in Brighton on Friday 7 December. We’d love to see you!
We’re pleased to announce our first Brighton gig, on Friday 7 December at The Coach House in Kemptown. It’ll be a mostly acoustic set in an intimate venue – join us!
Also playing is the lovely country blues guitarist Guy Hayes, who sounds much like this:
We think this gig’s unticketed, possibly with donations on the door, but we’ll update this post if we hear otherwise.
We’ve got some more gigs on the way – as the dates are confirmed they’ll appear in the list over on the right ->
In the meantime, here’s a new video from the album launch gig!
We’re gradually putting more videos up from the Eucatastrophe launch gig last Friday. They’re a bit rough around the edges, but then so are we.
Here’s Gene for Eternity…
…and Freaky Kind of Light
We’re hoping to announce some more dates soon – watch this space, or this space.
One sleep until album launch day! In the meantime, here’s a video from Friday’s gig.
